The transition of power from one US President to another has always been civil, cordial and respectful, or so it should be. However, with President Trump, it’s been anything but respectful and actually borders on criminal, with civil service employees, who serve in the government.
Well you can’t make this story up and it actually sickens me that something like this could even occur at the Veterans Affairs, but, it doesn’t surprise me one bit.
Photographs of the President and a particular cabinet member that represents that department are hung at those facilities. In the case of the VA there should be a portrait of President Donald Trump and Secretary David Shulkin.
In a VA facility at West Palm Beach, FL though, there have been two empty picture frames since the President’s inauguration. And Congressman Brian Mast, a veteran himself took matters into his own hands.
Both the congressman and several other veterans brought portraits to hang themselves after outraged veterans contacted the Congressman in his district.
The VA was asked about it several times and the answers varied from they didn’t have the picture, to……..wait for it……”he’s not our President.” You can view the video here
Shortly after leaving the VA took the pictures down and a VA spokeswoman said “the congressman’s actions and the actions of the veterans who accompanied him were “inappropriate” and the cell phone video was not legally obtained. Additionally, the spokeswoman said the portraits have been removed because they have not been authenticated and portraits on display at the VA need to come from the central office.”
This is exactly the type of environment that fosters the atmosphere over at the VA that is out of control and accountable to no one, not even the law, which requires pictures of the Commander in Chief be displayed in all government facilities.
Draining the swamp needs to start at the VA and this provides a wonderful opportunity to make an example of these morons.
